Whatever. Happy Valentine's Day! I found a really cool video - I'd like to design my new dig like I live in San Fran. I really like San Francisco, it's airy, it's quirky, and what's special is that the quirkiness is normal for them. You go butt naked in SF and I don't think you will get accosted, the most you could get is possibly 1 to 2 stares.
I have moved to a new country, in a city known for its southern comfort food, the capital of hiphop and where Julia Roberts came from. I'm of course excited to be living again in a new city -the last time I did was a decade ago, in different parts of Japan. I live now in a cool apartment, I like it. It has wide bathroom, my bedroom has windows from floor to ceiling and so is my living room. If you see it, you would think it's pretty small (cozy!) and simple (modern!) but I love it! The windows did it for me. In my mind, wide, tall windows prevents homesickness and can prevent depression - one of the symptoms experience by people separated from their loved ones. I think that if you have wonderful windows, you can rule the world from your home. Sunbeam is the key, my people! I love doing my pranayama (albeit incorrectly) with my blinds open and sunshine is in.
My window overlooks the happiest place on earth (at least for the organizing people): Ikea. I'm still saving enough money to decorate this house, I want to go to a flea market (well half Ikea, half Flea Market), I like vintage items and I do like holding items that were loved before by someone.
I miss my Sunday market hopping in Manila though. I miss buying organic stuff cheap -- here it's killing my budget. One of my few discoveries have been cooking again. A few weekends ago, I baked a simple dish that floored me - it's so yummy. I named it Bacon-Please-Hug-Me-Your-Asparagus dish. Even though sinful given the bacon, I'd like to think putting any green food in your sinful food neutralizes it. And I baked it and did not fry it. Success! Original Recipe by Rachel Ray here.
You know what else I miss? Friends dropping by at my place :(. But can't wait for friends coming soon! To whoever you are reading my blog, please visit me too. You're welcome to stay at my place.
